Mission
This year will mark the first annual participation by the University of Georgia in the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineer's 1/4 Scale Tractor International Student Design Competition. As engineering students, we feel this competition is a very effective way of engaging the pratical application of skills needed to accel as a professional.
Competition
The ASABE competition consists of student organizations from schools around the world who gather in early June to compete each year. The contest is made up of four components: a written design report, a team presentation, design judging, and the multi-stage performance pull. The competition demands that each team engage in much more than a backyard tractor pull. The goal of each team is to design their tractor as if they were trying to place the design on the market. Careful analysis of performance, saftey, serviceability, manufacturability, ergonomics, and cost effectiveness must be taken.
